Helpful Resources

Here are some of the products, organisations, and guides we personally use and recommend to help you give your spoodle the best possible start.

Nutrition

We feed our dogs Vet’s All Natural Complete Mix combined with raw meat. This balanced diet supports excellent energy levels, healthy body condition, and shiny coats.

Health & genetics

PRA-prcd (Progressive Rod Cone Degeneration) is a hereditary eye disease that causes declining vision and eventual blindness. All of our breeding dogs are DNA tested to ensure none of our puppies will be affected.

Grooming essentials

Regular grooming keeps your spoodle’s coat healthy and tangle-free. We recommend:

  • Slicker brush for everyday brushing

  • Comb for detangling around ears and legs

  • Pet-friendly shampoo (mild, hypoallergenic)

  • Professional clipping every 8–12 weeks, depending on coat length

Training & behaviour

Spoodles are intelligent and eager to please, which makes training fun and rewarding. Some resources we recommend:

  • Positive reinforcement training guides (such as The Power of Positive Dog Training by Pat Miller)

  • Local puppy schools or obedience clubs for socialisation and manners

  • Interactive toys and puzzles to keep their clever minds busy

Pet insurance

Every puppy leaves us with four weeks of free Trupanion insurance (covering accident and illness). We strongly recommend continuing with a pet insurance plan for peace of mind and protection against unexpected vet bills.

Rescue & adoption

While we are passionate about spoodles, we also encourage families to consider rescue. Canine Lifeline is a wonderful organisation helping dogs in need find their forever homes.
