We’re thrilled to share the arrival of a beautiful litter of eight spoodle puppies - "Adorable 8"!
Follow their journey and see how we nurture and raise them through each stage of early development.
Ever wondered about newborn puppies and their initial experiences?
Over the next 8 weeks, we will share weekly updates on these puppies. This will give you a front row seat to the joys and challenges of how we raise our puppies here at Macedon Ranges Spoodles.
INTERESTING FACT
A newborn puppy should double its weight in the first 10 days of its life.
Did you also know, newborn puppies are born blind, deaf, and toothless? Plus, they can't walk or toilet on their own!
Week 1

The first week of life
The first few days are all about Mum and creating a calm, safe environment where she can recover and bond with her puppies. We’re by her side around the clock (24/7) to ensure she feels confident, comfortable, and well-fed.
The puppies feed (from their Mum) every couple of hours and are weighed daily to make sure everyone is thriving. At birth, this litter each weighed between 225g and 300g, and we’re delighted with their steady growth so far.
Inside the whelping box, the temperature is carefully maintained at around 30°C to create a warm, secure haven. This helps the puppies focus all their energy on feeding, sleeping, and growing strong.
INTERESTING FACT
Puppies can only start regulating their body temperature at 3 weeks of age.
Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS)
We are passionate about giving our puppies the absolute best start in life.
From day 3 to day 16, we introduce Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) exercises into the puppies’ routine. This short, gentle process helps boost brain development, strengthens their immune system, improves circulation, and sets them up to handle stress more effectively later in life. It also gives us a chance to spend precious one-on-one time with each puppy.
